Hope Cafe International in Kipseli continues into its 6th year distributing much needed supplies to refugees in Athens.
With more than 40,000 refugees awaiting papers for safe haven in Greece or gain passage to other EU countries, Hope Cafe distributes monthly food rations for these such families. They are mainly arriving from war torn areas such as Syria, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and the Ukraine.
The Cafe also supports local populations as well, with no persons leaving empty handed each day.
St Catherine’s British School and PTSA continuisly supports these families by helping to fill monthly food pack rations.
Each Year Group is assigned a collection period during the year. Together with Class Reps and Teachers children learn more about these populations in our city and are informed how together we can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbours in need.

The St Cats community came forward once again participating in the Cook for Good at Home ACT that took place on Tuesday 29/11/2022. Hope Cafe distributed complete meals and fresh vegetables bags to 50 families.
They set aside another set of meals and fresh vegetables bags for 20 families for Wednesday, and also sent meals to two local community housing projects.
More than 100 families were fed, with meals and fresh vegetables, all donated from our school's community, and transported with the help of Mike and Elias, from the school’s maintenance department. Big thanks to all participants in this worthy cause and looking forward to organising more cooking in 2023/24!
